After decades of aggregate extraction, the site was carefully rehabilitated into a thriving aquaculture project in partnership with Izumi Aquaculture. The once\u2011industrial pit is now a lake that nurtures young fish hatchlings, which are then grown, harvested, and distributed to local retailers.
